Cork granules are a natural infill due to their natural characteristics
As a natural product, granulated cork is a renewable raw material derived from the bark of cork oak from sustainably managed sources. Since 2017, granulated cork has been increasingly put to use as infill in artificial turf systems. For infill production, leftover material from bottle cork production is granulated.
The use of cork as an infill is favoured due to its many positive proprieties, such as: low density (insulation properties with low heat absorption when exposed to sunlight), high elasticity (because of the large share of air that fills its cell structure), high strength and low wear, high fire resistance, attractive life-cycle assessment, no environmental toxicity, largely odour-neutral and decay resistance (due to the suberin content of the cork, the material is highly resistant to moisture and subsequent oxidisation and decay).
Cork infills designed to avoid unwanted consequences

Amorim Nature 130, a natural infill with a very low percentage of small particles
Amorim Nature 130 is a natural infill for artificial turf based on cork granules between 1 and 2mm (less than 5% below 0.85mm).
Cork infill from Amorim contains only top-quality material (and no filler) and is a durable granule (wear resistant).
Nature 130 offers excellent shock absorbing properties, meeting industry standards for immediate and long-term player safety.
Amorim Nature 190, a natural infill that makes for simpler installation
Amorim Nature 190 is a higher density natural infill for artificial turf based on cork granules between 1 and 2mm (less than 6% below 0.6mm).
Our offers this version of cork granules in order to make the installation process simpler (to introduce cork infill into artificial turf) without compromising performance.
It is a very resistant substance with strong durability, almost unalterable and imperishable. Due to its membrane flexibility, the cells in Nature 190 function as microscopic air cushions, which regain their shape after compression.
Elasticity thanks to cork cellular structure
Cork is made of millions of airtight cells, divided by a gaseous mixture which allows it to be compressed to half its thickness without losing any flexibility, and to be decompressed to return to its original shape.
This characteristic lends cork high elasticity and compression resistance that is advantageous when cork is used as infill for artificial turf systems.
Amorim Icetech, Extruded cork and PE infill for Artificial Turf Fields
Amorim Icetech is an extruded cork and PE compound specifically manufactured to be used as artificial turf infill. It offers a good balance of shock absorption, elasticity, stable strength, durability and heat-resistance.
Icetech has increased wear resistance when compared to 100% natural infills and has very low % of small particles (just 5% below 1mm). It is an eco-friendly solution with good recovery and shock absorption capacity. It is heat resistant and UV stable.
